1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They help the website remember things about your visit — like your preferences and actions — so you don’t have to keep re-entering information each time you come back or move from one page to another.

Cookies are widely used across the internet and are a standard part of how websites work. They do not contain viruses or harmful software, and they cannot access other information on your device.

2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage

At SwiftShift Packers & Movers (www.swiftshiftpackers.online), our website is a static, informational site. We currently use a minimal amount of browser storage to keep things running smoothly:

  • To remember whether you have accepted or dismissed the cookie consent banner

Our site does not currently set any traditional HTTP cookies on its own. Instead, we use your browser’s localStorage — a similar technology that stores a small piece of data on your device. The key difference is that localStorage data is never sent to a server with each page request the way cookies are.

3. What We Currently Store

As of the date shown at the top of this page, the only item we store on your device is:

Storage Name Type Purpose Duration Provider
cookieConsent localStorage Remembers that you accepted the cookie/consent banner so it does not appear again on every page visit Persists until you clear your browser data SwiftShift Packers & Movers (First Party)

That is it. We do not set any session cookies, tracking cookies, or advertising cookies at this time. Our website does not use PHP, server-side sessions, or CSRF tokens.

4. Third-Party Services — Future Use

We may add the following third-party services in the future. If and when we do, this policy will be updated and the consent banner will be revised accordingly:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC): A web analytics service that helps us understand how visitors use our website — which pages are popular, how long people stay, and what devices they use. If enabled, Google Analytics would place cookies such as _ga and _gid on your device. All data collected would be aggregated and anonymous.
  • Google Ads (Google LLC): An advertising platform we may use to promote our services. If enabled, Google Ads would place cookies such as _gcl_au to measure ad performance and conversions. You would be able to opt out via Google Ads Settings.

Important: As of now, neither Google Analytics nor Google Ads scripts are active on our website. No analytics or advertising cookies are set when you browse our site. We commit to obtaining your explicit opt-in consent before activating any Google Ads or Analytics scripts. We will update this page and revise the consent banner before activating any such services.

5. Other Browser Storage

For full transparency, our website does not use:

  • sessionStorage: We do not store any session-based data.
  • IndexedDB: We do not use IndexedDB or any browser database.
  • Service Workers: We do not register any service workers or cache API data.
  • Third-party cookie managers or consent management platforms (CMPs): Our consent banner is a simple, custom-built JavaScript component that stores only the cookieConsent value mentioned above.

6. Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit our website, you will see a consent banner at the bottom of the page. Clicking “Accept” stores the cookieConsent value in your browser’s localStorage so the banner does not appear again.

You can reset this preference at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for www.swiftshiftpackers.online. After clearing, the banner will appear again on your next visit.

7. How to Clear localStorage in Your Browser

Since our website uses localStorage rather than traditional cookies, here is how to clear it:

  • Google Chrome: Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → find swiftshiftpackers.online → click Delete.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search for swiftshiftpackers.online → Remove Selected.
  • Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions → Manage and Delete Cookies and Site Data → See all cookies and site data → search and remove.
  • Safari: Go to Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search for swiftshiftpackers.online → Remove.

Clearing your site data will remove the cookieConsent entry, and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.

8. What Happens If You Clear Site Data

If you clear localStorage for our website, the only effect is that the cookie consent banner will reappear on your next visit. There is no loss of account data, shopping carts, or saved preferences — our site does not store any of those things.

9. Legal Basis

Our use of localStorage for the consent banner is based on your consent (clicking “Accept”). Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, the cookieConsent value is not classified as personal data since it contains no identifying information — it is a simple yes/no flag that never leaves your device.

10. Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to clear, truthful disclosure about what data technologies a website uses. This Cookie Policy fulfils that obligation by honestly disclosing that we use only localStorage for a single consent flag and do not use any tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

If you believe our disclosure is inaccurate, you may contact the National Consumer Helpline at 1800-11-4000 (toll-free) or visit consumerhelpline.gov.in.

11. Grievance Officer

For unresolved concerns about cookies or browser storage:

  • Grievance Officer: Data & Privacy Department
  • Email: letconnect@swiftshiftpackers.online (subject line: “Cookie Policy Grievance”)
  • Acknowledgment: Within 48 hours of receiving your complaint.
  • Resolution: Within 30 days.

12. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in technology, or changes in applicable laws and regulations. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
